Full time (Fixed Term – 12 months)

Our Team:

Our In Vivo Translational Biology Team focuses on the design and execution of in vivo studies for the elucidation of the mechanism of action of novel therapeutics. We are seeking an enthusiastic Scientist to run work streams that include generation and characterisation of pre-clinical disease models, target validation, and determination of pharmacological properties of immunotherapeutics, with specific focus in Immunology, Immuno-Oncology and Inflammation.

Main responsibilities:

  • Design and run studies using in vivo models of inflammation and oncology in support of our discovery programs
  • Perform tissue cultures and ex-vivo analysis, including multi-parameter flow cytometry, CyTOF & cytokine analysis
  • Analysis and interpretation of data and reporting key outcomes to the project team and wider company as required
  • Ensure accurate preparation of protocols, recording and analysis of data, and preparation of reports
  • Train and coach less experienced members of the team
  • Actively engage across the organization

As part of the team, you may be required to participate in weekend/public holiday rota, with time off given in lieu.

About you

  • Soft skills:
  • Flexible, able to work independently with a degree of autonomy and ownership
  • Effective at communicating and liaising at all levels
  • Technical skills:
  • Ability to define individual protocols and large experimental blocks of work to answer key questions around pharmacology (PK/PD), immunology (mechanism of action) to guide project team decisions
  • Extensive experience with immunology, inflammation and/or tumour immunology
  • Extensive experience in ex-vivo analytical techniques including multi-parameter flow-cytometry
  • Personal Home Office Licence Modules A-C is desirable
  • Awareness of A[SP]A and 3Rs
  • Education/Experience:
  • PhD or equivalent industrial experience with proven track record evidenced by publications is preferrable but not essential
  • Languages: English
