Computational Scientist

About Us

Concr is an emerging predictive software platform built to combat cancer. Concr combines cutting edge machine learning techniques with deep scientific understanding of tumour progression to accurately predict cancers evolution in response to treatment. This will enable clinicians to adapt treatments proactively, rather than reactively, to prevent treatment resistance and improve treatment efficacy through precision medicine.

Concr aims to:

• Reduce treatment resistance

• Cut cost of cancer treatment

• Enable proactive treatment adaptation

• Save lives

As such, we are looking to hire a computational scientist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing computational models that model different aspects of cancer biology. You will also be responsible for integrating these models with other aspects. You may also be required to integrate the models you develop into the software products that Concr offers. You will work with a broad team of software engineers, computational scientists, bioinformaticians, and research clinicians to produce work that will be directly commercialised.

To ensure success as a computational scientist, you should have a good experience of building and testing computational models and simulations of a range of systems, developing novel solutions, communicating complex concepts and navigating a diverse range of academic literature.

• Developing custom computational models of cancer biology

• Validating the accuracy effectiveness of the Concr’s predictive platform

• Integrating the computational models into Concr’s products

• Communicating your work to internal team members and external partners

• Staying up to date with current advances in modelling and communicating these advances to the rest of the team

• MSc/PhD in STEM subject with computational research experience or equivalent industry experience

• Experience in scientific/numerical Python ecosystem

• Experience with statistical modelling

Highly Favourable Skills

• Experience publishing first author research papers

• Bayesian inference and statistics

• Production machine learning

• Bioinformatics
