A large component of the estate grounds including the wood, grass, grazing meadows and park land are opened for both the campus and the wider community to walk through and use.RoleThe receptionist role is one of the most important roles in the organisation as they will be the first point of contact for our customers, contractors and visitors. Alongside making a great first impression you will also provide administrative support to other BRCL departments. We are looking for a friendly, experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and customer focused individual who will thrive in this busy and growing environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential whether you are face to face with visitors or answering the phone. You will be expected to cover across all aspects of the Helpdesk Team which includes Reception, Customer Helpdesk and departmental administration; however, you will be based on reception full time. Your working hours will be 37 hours per week: namely 8am – 4pm Monday – Friday. Responsibilities• Greet and welcome visitors and contractors as soon as they arrive on site, directing them accordingly and notifying the relevant people of their arrival and providing keys/passes. • Managing the campus switchboard, answer, screen and forward enquiries via email and phone. • Dealing with queries, providing basic and accurate information.• Update Company information platforms (e.g.Website/Sharepoint).• Responsibility for managing the general company email inbox.• Assisting with meeting room and event bookings on campus. • Send communication to Campus via email and communication platforms. • Using our task ticket system to triage reactive tasks and liaise with operatives.• Administration support for BRCL departments This list is not exhaustive, and the successful candidate would be expected to undertake reasonable additional duties in support of the site operations as and when required.Person SpecificationEducation and Qualifications • GCSE’s (or equivalent) English and maths, grade C or above Experience• Experience and knowledge of working on a busy reception/helpdesk• Proficient use of Microsoft office applications – Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook• Experience of using databases or a Facilities Management System• Experience of providing excellent customer service• Working on an established site dealing with multiple customers and contractors Skills and Abilities• Excellent verbal communication • Good telephone communication etiquette • Organised and resourceful • Customer-focused • Active listener • Adept at prioritising, scheduling and multitasking • Ability to work on own initiative • Ability to work as part of a team • Flexible and willing approach to work Company Benefits• Pension Allowance - Babraham Research Campus Ltd. offers a Group Personal Pension Scheme and currently contributes 10.5% of salary subject to a staff contribution of 3%.• Holiday Entitlement - 25 days p.a. plus bank Holidays and 3 privilege days for Christmas Shutdown• Discretional Annual Bonus - Employees may be eligible for a discretional performance related bonus • Private Healthcare• Employee Wellbeing Service - The scheme offers confidential support, information, expert advice and specialist counselling service to all BRC employees• Restaurant Facilities.• Skills training is encouraged • Onsite Accommodation - There are a number of hostels, flats and houses that can be rented.
