Outline of the role:
You will join a growing research team within this innovative and expanding company. Your primary responsibilities will be to support the DDR Biology team in contributing biological data to Artios’ early-stage drug discovery projects. You will use genetic, cell biological and pharmacological strategies to identify and validate therapeutic targets using cell-based systems and deliver high quality cell biological and mode of action data packages to understand target biology. You will also work in multi-disciplinary collaborations involving a high level of teamwork.Responsibilities and Duties:Apply expertise in cell and molecular biology to run mechanistic cell biological studies to validate Artios’ novel targetsContribute biological data to Artios’ ongoing drug discovery projectsQualifications and Experience: EssentialPhD or equivalent in a life science subjectProven experience working in a research environment DesirableExperience of in vitro pharmacology or drug discovery Experience working in an industrial setting will be a distinct advantage Key Skills and Abilities: EssentialExcellent skills in a broad range of cell and molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, viability assays, Western blotting and RNA interferenceUnderstanding of DNA damage response biology, DNA repair pathways and/or cancer biologyHigh level of team working skills requiredAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in an organised and methodical fashionAbility to troubleshoot experiments independentlyExcellent communication and presentation skillsExcellent attention to detail Keeping accurate laboratory recordsHigh level of IT literacyFlexible approach to changeDesirableExpertise in fluorescence microscopy-based methods such as immunofluorescenceExpertise in flow cytometryExperience of small molecule drug discoveryExperience with stable cell line generation This is a permanent position, offering an attractive salary & benefits package.
