We Are Delighted to Have Nikon BioImaging Labs Onsite at Babraham Research Campus!

10/12/2024

We are delighted that Nikon BioImaging Labs has chosen Babraham Research Campus as the base for their UK hub.

The facility, based within LiveLabs, will provide contract research services for microscope-based imaging and analysis to the biotech, pharma, and larger research communities.

The full-service capabilities include access to cutting-edge microscopy instrumentation and software plus the services of expert biologists and microscopists. The team can provide quality cell culture, sample preparation, data acquisition and data analysis services.

Jenny Hirst, Senior Lead Science & Entrepreneurship, says the advanced instrumentation and know-how will complement the Imaging Facility at Babraham Institute. She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for LiveLabs companies and users to access the support and imaging services of Nikon to accelerate their progress and adds to the strength of the offering on Campus for imaging excellence.”

The Cambridge NBIL is one of three new sites to open in Europe as Nikon looks to expand the level of research support it offers to the scientific community.

LiveLabs Manager Ruth Campbell said: “It's fantastic that Nikon have chosen Babraham as the location of their new UK Bioimaging facility and it's been a pleasure working with them to get started. They are a lovely, knowledgeable team and already actively engaging with the community and wider Cambridge ecosystem.”
