Events

We have a diverse and highly experienced network of highly motivated, dedicated life science experts across our Campus community, plus a huge extended network within the wider Cambridge cluster as well as access to life science investors, strong relationships with life science organisations and much more. Connecting people is an important part of what we do and the various Campus events across the year aim to do just that. From the Babraham Investor Conference to the Accelerate@Babraham start-up competition our events enable interaction, connection and collaboration.

The Cambridge Building

The Cambridge building, at the heart of the Campus, was specifically designed to enable collaboration and facilitate connection. The restaurant and café seat over 200 people, and offers a high-quality full breakfast and lunch service through our catering partner BaxterStorey; and is an ideal space to meet, grab a coffee, or a bite to eat and share ideas. The first floor of the Cambridge Building holds our two state-of-the-art meeting rooms and the Petersfield Lecture Theatre, which can hold just over 200 people. Many internal lectures and external events are held here throughout the year, from investor conferences and networking functions to lunch and learn seminars. The Cambridge Building is fully accessible, including a lift to the first floor and accessible parking. We also have hearing loops in both of our meeting rooms and the Petersfield Lecture Theatre.

Petersfield Lecture Theatre

The Petersfield Lecture Theatre is located in The Cambridge Building. It can seat just over 200 people. We have tiered theatre seating for just over half of the room, with a large presentation area at the front and a lectern to present from. The Theatre is equipped with state-of-the-art AV, a computer is provided but a laptop can also be used, various adaptors are available. Also included is Wi-Fi, access to an AV room, and the adjoining breakout area provides space for hospitality and catering.

King's Hedges & Queen Edith's Rooms

These two rooms offer flexible space for business meetings and seminars. The dividing wall retracts to provide space for up to 100 people seminar-style when required or the rooms can be used separately for smaller meetings and training days. The adjoining foyer and breakout area, together with an outdoor terrace can also be made available to provide additional space for hospitality and catering.

BaxterStorey Professional Catering Service

BaxterStorey are our campus catering partners and provide the daily restaurant and café service as well as catering for conferences, events and speciality showcases.

Featured Event: Babraham Investor Conference 2023

The Babraham Investor Conference 2023 (BIC), an event for investors focusing on early-stage and scale-up life science and med-tech companies, saw more than 150 company founders, investors and industry leaders come together at Babraham Research Campus on Thursday 21st September.
